Hi Antonis,

First of all, thank you for giving us the chance to actively participate to the evolution of your projects!

Now, by abusing this privilege (once again  ), here are some suggestions about the "Find & Replace" dialog of HiEditor:

1) Would it be possible for the aforementioned dialog to be sizable ?

In that case, all the controls except Edit controls would maintain their original dimensions, while the Edit Controls would resize along with the dialog, filling the empty space...

2) HiEditor notifies you about events, such as how many instances of your search query were found, through a MessageBox.

Would it be possible to attach a StatusBar at the bottom of the "Find & Replace" dialog, and notify the user about such events through text, redirected to the StatusBar? (perhaps accompanied by a MessageBeep notification ?)

3) In addition to the above, would it be possible to add the WS_HSCROLL style to the Edit Controls that correspond to the "Find What :" and "Replace :" labels ?

P.S.: I really love the multi-line Search-and-Replace ability of HiEditor!
Perhaps one day this could be incorporated into WinAsm Studio ?
(But, again, i could use macros...)

Thank you,

samael

samael,

I thank all of you for your continuous support and the great help. I could not be able to catch up with everything without people like you around.

Thanks for the nice suggestions too. There are NO edit controls on the Find & Replace Dialog. There are two of those lovely HiEdit controls, however!

cheers!

Antonis,

Thank you for your kind words!

I understand that it's difficult for a single person to follow up and handle all the hammering we give you...

Please do not consider requests something that *needs* or *has* to be done...
We 're just filling the idea pool!

From there, you may choose and implement, what you think is practical - or even critical...

Again, thanks for your work, and the time you have invested to it!

S.

As I have been using HiEditor much more lately, this has moved to the top of my desired changes list for HiEditor.

Hi Jim,

1 & 3 OK. For 2, do you mean to say I remove the message box and give the info on the status bar only?
