So I've downloaded the DirectX SDK, but the include files are all .h files.
But I want to use DX in assembly, not C++.
Do anybody know of .inc files for DirectX.
I am also wondering if anyone knows of any DirectX with ASM tutorials.

Please help me out wink.gif

Take a look at the OpenGL subforum of the MASM forum, at the following address.

http://www.masm32.com/board/index.php?board=41.0

Chances are, you will find everything you need to get you started there.

Thanks samael, found a way to convert the .lib files to .inc with Vortex's little utility lib2inc.
Thanks Vortex! biggrin.gif

Well, some code is included with MASM along with the examples, but unless i'm mistaking, it was provided by hitchhikr, which is a moderator at the subforum i pointed.
Check it out, besides OpenGL, there are some DirectX tutorials by ToutEnMasm, and i'm pretty sure you 'll dig up more. There are also Q&A regarding DirectX.

Well, that's about it, i'm afraid i'm not aware of any series of tutorials that deals with DirectX, that is analogous to Iczelion's tutorials. sad.gif

There are many tutorials on DirectX, but they are mostly C++ orientated...

When it comes to DirectX in ASM then Scronty (scrontsoft.com) is your goto guy. Don't bother going directly to his homepage - it is misleading.

Here's a link that links directly to the goods: http://in4k.untergrund.net/index.php?title=Graphics_Coding
And if the links on scronty's site aren't working then you can get the entire DX8/8.1 tutorials/includes from the IN4K site.

HTH,

Shell

EDIT: Sorry, I haven't seen any GOOD ASM tutorials regarding DX for version 9+ sad.gif
