Alternate OS on a boot disk with fax capability, Microsoft decided to break fax capability with Service Pack 3, is there any OS that I can put on a boot CD that will fax docs?

Microsoft decided to break fax capability with Service Pack 3.

I thought of something else that may work.

Is there another O.S. that I can put on a boot CD that will fax
documents using an internal Fax Modem ?

you can install virtual pc or virtualbox and run there any os you wish. i have not tested it with internal modem, but been using external too long (even now it is still attached) - you just must give access to desired COM port for guest OS.

I made a live CD of Ubuntu, but had all kinds of problems like
the mouse stopped working. :-)
