I use Hiedit control for an application that has to deal very big .txt files (200-300MB, or even more...)

I noticed that when opening a new (BIG) file, it takes time to open it, and this time depends on the length of the file.. The longer the file, the longer the time. I checked if there is some "strange" allocation of RAM memory, but there is nothing strange, RAM remains bounded to 11-12MB and it is very fine!
It seems like Hiedit did some operation on the file, like counting the lines or something like that, that with very big files takes time...

Do you think it is possibile to do something about this?

Thank you very much for your work!
